Information and maps

The Yukon Territory is part of Canada, bordered to the west by Alaska, USA and to the east by the Northwest Territory.

The Yukon’s vast empty land stretches from a southern boundary with British Columbia, beyond the Arctic Circle, to the Beaufort Sea in the far north. Most of the Territory’s 30,000 residents live in the capital city of Whitehorse.

Dawson City (summer pop. 3500, winter pop. 2000) is situated at the confluence of the Klondike and Yukon Rivers. It is an international tourism destination with a full range of attractions and services. Dawson was home to over 40,000 people at the height of the Klondike Gold Rush in 1898 and is the Yukon’s former capital. The spirit of the town’s rich past endures today.

Dawson is 536 km (333 mi) northwest of Whitehorse — approximately 5.5 hrs driving on a good road or 2 hours by scheduled airline flight en route to Fairbanks Alaska.

KIAC is located in downtown Dawson, at the corner of 2nd Ave and Princess St. You can’t miss us.
